frogger

Blogging is surely over. How can we tell?
A recent search for 'blogger' in Apple's
App Store for iOS provoked the response:


Did you mean frogger?

Normalcy has been restored.

  2. Only the artwork for the original 'Frogger' has passed into the public domain. The popular 1884 Kinetoscope reel follows the same narrative arc as Konami's 1981 remake. Here's some promotional art for the original:

    One notable omission from the 1981 remake is the letter that Frog is trying to deliver (see the poster above for a clear image). This is understandable given the limits of contemporary 8-bit graphics but does leave the player at a bit of a loss as to Frog's underlying motivations.

    The following year's 'Zaxxon' had the same problem though it used a more sophisticated axonometric projection. The ultimate raster resolution (224x256) was the same for both games.
